What does it mean to be a practicing Jew? It may not be what you think.
I sat down with my neighbour and community leader, Yiscah Smith, to talk about what makes Nachlaot special, the little-known Warsaw Rabbi who made her soul come alive, and her vision for the Jewish world and humanity. I learned about how to get along with different kinds of people, and what is the guiding question on her spiritual compass. Yiscah is a Torah scholar, educator, writer, gardener, mother, cat mother, and grandmother whose spiritual journey has led her to a heart-based approach to Jews and the world.
Find out more about Yiscah, her public speaking, mentorship, classes, podcast, and more at her website, www.YiscahSmith.com.
Tonight and tomorrow, the 4th of Cheshvan, is the yahrzeit of the Piaseczner Rebbe.
What did you think of the interview? Is there anything that stands out for you? Anything you disagree with? (We would love to hear another opinion!) Do you want to thank Yiscah? Please let us know! Yiscah welcomes feedback, and I would love to hear what you think. So comment below.
